Roxborough Park Community Center, Douglas County, CO

Awarded via design competition, this 4,500 s.f. facility provides office space for the Foundation Administration offices, a conference room, a sitting space with a fireplace, one large meeting room that can be separated by a movable partition into two spaces, two small kitchens, and an unfinished walk-out lower level.

Jutting roof forms of concrete tile, tapered column elements of stone, and rough-sawn glu-lam timbers allow the exterior of the building to reflect the character of the Roxborough Park neighborhood. An entrance porte-cochere provides shelter and a strong main entrance statement. The exterior deck provides views down the valley corridor.
